Among the criteria required to obtain this label are compliance with various parameters established in Decision 2021/1870, such as toxicity, biodegradability, type of packaging, and suitability for use, among others.
The ecotoxicity assessment of a cosmetic product is based on its critical dilution volume (CDV), which in turn depends on the acute and chronic toxicity of the cosmetic ingredient, as well as its degradation.
